SUMMARY:First international conference of the Ital
ian Network for the Philosophy of Mathematics (Fil
 Mat), Milan, Italy
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20140529
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20140531
LOCATION:Milan, Italy
DESCRIPTION:The FilMat network originates from two
interconnected needs: to establish and foster exc
hanges between Italian scholars working in the phi
losophy of mathematics and strictly related fields
, either in Italy or abroad, with special attentio
n to those at early stages of their careers; and t
o support the relationships between the Italian co
mmunity and international scholars. In order to
contribute to this process of establishment, the n
etwork is now promoting its first international co
nference, in the hope this will become a regular m
eeting for Italian and international researchers.
The conference will give the opportunity to keep t
he attention on this field alive at national level
, and to make the Italian research community even
more visible internationally. For more informati
 on, see http://www.unisr.it/filosofia/filmat We e
xpect to host up to 16 contributed talks by speake
rs of any nationalities by double-blind review. Su
bmissions of original contributions are invited in
any area of philosophy of mathematics connected w
ith the issues of objectivity, cognition, and proo
 f. Submissions by young scholars are especially we
lcome. Deadline for submission is January 31, 2014
 .
