SUMMARY:Fourth Workshop on Controlled Natural Lang
 uage (CNL 2014), Galway, Ireland
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20140820
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20140822
LOCATION:Galway, Ireland
DESCRIPTION:This workshop on controlled natural la
nguage (CNL) has a broad scope and embraces all ap
proaches that are based on natural language and ap
ply restrictions on vocabulary, grammar, and/or se
mantics. This includes (but is certainly not limit
ed to) approaches that have been called simplified
language, plain language, formalized language, pr
ocessable language, fragments of language, phraseo
 logies, conceptual authoring, language generation,
and guided natural language interfaces. Some CN
Ls are designed to improve communication among hum
ans, especially for non-native speakers of the res
pective natural language. In other cases, the rest
rictions on the language are supposed to make it e
asier for computers to analyze such texts in order
to improve computer-aided, semi-automatic, or aut
omatic translations into other languages. A third
group of CNL has the goal to enable reliable autom
ated reasoning and formal knowledge representation
from seemingly natural texts. All these types of
CNL are covered by this workshop. For more infor
 mation, see http://attempto.ifi.uzh.ch/site/cnl201
4/ We invite researchers to submit papers with no
vel contributions in the area of CNL. These resear
ch papers should be formatted according to the Spr
inger LNCS format and should not exceed 10 pages.
 Submission deadline: 14 March 2014.
