SUMMARY:Semantic content workshop, Barcelona, Spai
 n
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20140906
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20140908
LOCATION:Barcelona, Spain
DESCRIPTION:Recent debates about semantic content
have called into question traditional accounts and
have renewed interest in unorthodox approaches, i
n particular approaches that operate with semantic
contents that do not have absolute truth-values.
These novel approaches to semantic content challen
ge the simple models of communication and informat
ion transfer that have traditionally been assumed.
They also raise independently interesting questio
ns about linguistic communication. The project
'Semantic Content and Conversational Dynamics' org
anizes an international workshop on topics relevan
t to these issues. Invited speakers include Frank
Veltman. For more information, see http://semcon
 .wordpress.com/workshop-2/. Contributions are in
vited. There will be space for up to 8 contributed
papers. Submission deadline: 31st of May 2014.
