SUMMARY:European Conference on Social Intelligence
  (ECSI-2014), Barcelona, Spain
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20141103
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20141105
LOCATION:Barcelona, Spain
DESCRIPTION:Social intelligence is a general term
at the intersection between different disciplines
including philosophy, social science - sociology,
economics, legal science, etc. - and computer scie
nce. Broadly speaking, social intelligence is the
capacity to understand others and to act rationall
y and emotionally in relations with others. This i
s an ability that not only human but also artifici
al agents have, as modelled in artificial intellig
ence and agent-based research in particular. Th
e aim of the European Network for Social Intellige
nce (SINTELNET, 2011-2014) is to help build a shar
ed perspective at the intersection of the above fi
elds, to identify challenges and opportunities for
  cross-disciplinary collaboration, to provide guid
elines for research and policy-making and to kindl
e partnerships among participants. The aim of the
European Conference on Social Intelligence is to p
rovide a productive meeting ground for researchers
from the above fields For more information, see
  http://ecsi.sintelnet.eu The Programme Committe
e cordially invites all researchers to submit thei
r papers for presentation. Submissions should have
a forward-looking perspective that contributes to
the objectives of the symposium. Challenging posi
tion papers are specially welcome. The technicalit
y of the papers should take the mixed audience int
o consideration. Selection for the symposium and s
ubsequent publication will be based on the possibi
lity of fruitful discussions and the quality of th
e arguments put forward. Paper submission deadline
 : September 3, 2014.
