SUMMARY:Redrawing Pragmasemantic Borders, Groninge
 n, The Netherlands
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20150319
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20150320
LOCATION:Groningen, The Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:Semantics and pragmatics have long rec
ognized multiple meaning types: asserted and entai
led meaning, world knowledge and lexically based i
 nferences, presupposition, expressive content, and
  conversational and conventional implicature. Thes
e each get their own separate treatments and/or ar
e thought of as separate ~dimensions~ of meaning.
There are two main strands of research that que
stion the traditional divisions: accounts that see
k more unifying characteristics and accounts that
identify exceptional behavior in a subset of a cer
tain meaning type. The aim of the workshop is to d
iscuss how to cut the pragmasemantic pie. Invit
ed Speakers: Craige Roberts, Judith Tonhauser, Han
s-Martin Gärtner. For more information, see http
 s://sites.google.com/site/redraw2015/. We solici
t submissions dealing with: - formal arguments or
empirical data that support unifying different in
formation types based on for instance projection p
roperties - formal arguments or empirical data su
ggesting new distinctions - work that integrates
the analysis of different meaning types with conte
xtual or discourse effects - new theoretical appr
oaches to representing and integrating different t
ypes of information (e.g. multi-dimensional semant
ics). Deadline for abstract submission:Fri, Janua
 ry 16th, 2015.
