DESCRIPTION:There is an ongoing philosophical and
logical debate about motivations in accepting or r
ejecting the principle (law) of (non-)contradictio
n and the principle (law) of excluded middle. A lo
gic rejecting the principle of non-contradiction i
s called *paraconsistent* and a logic rejecting th
e principle of excluded middle is called *paracomp
lete*. But what does it really mean to reject a cl
assical principle (law)? And what are the philosop
hical consequences for this refusal? In which sens
e would it still be possible to defend nowadays th
at there is just one true logic? This workshop,
held at the 5th World Congress on Universal Logic
in Istanbul, shall represent a privileged platfor
m to evaluate proposals for a more integrated and
general approach to philosophical motivations and
consequences in the emergence of non-classical log
ics. Keynote speaker: Graham Priest (CUNY). For
  more information, see http://www.uni-log.org/wk5-
PNC.html The Programme Committee cordially invit
es all researchers to submit their papers for pres
entation. Abstracts (500 words maximum) should be
 sent via e-mail before November 15th 2014.
