SUMMARY:Logic Now and Then 3 (LNAT3), Brussels, Be
 lgium
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20150205
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20150206
LOCATION:Brussels, Belgium
DESCRIPTION:The conference will be devoted to the
relationship between the semantics and pragmatics
of logical constants (connectives, quantifiers, mo
dal operators). Its aim is to critically assess an
d contribute to semantic and pragmatic theories de
veloped for constructions containing such operator
s in natural language. On the one hand, we hope to
bring together cutting edge contributions to deba
tes that are currently in full swing, but at the s
ame time, we very much invite contributions of a m
ore historical nature, which shed light on anteced
ents of current views and issues, thereby placing
them in a wider diachronic perspective. In short,
the semantics and pragmatics of logical constants
now and then. Invited speakers: * Rick Nouwen
(Utrecht University) * Daniel Rothschild (Univers
ity College London) * Johan van der Auwera (Unive
rsity of Antwerp) For more information, see htt
 p://www.crissp.be/lnat3 The Programme Committee
cordially invites all researchers to submit their
papers for presentation. Abstracts should be in PD
F-format, anonymous, at most one page long, and sh
ould include any example sentences. A second page
may be added for bibliographical references only.
Abstract submission deadline: 1 December 2014
