SUMMARY:Wadge theory and automata, Turin, Italy
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20150128
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20150128
LOCATION:Turin, Italy
DESCRIPTION:The logic group in Turin is pleased to
announce a one-day workshop on "Wadge theory and
automata". Wadge theory is an area of descriptive
set theory dealing with the classification of subs
ets of reals in terms of their topological complex
ity. It has strong connections with automata theor
y, in particular when it comes to classifying omeg
a-regular languages that can be recognized by diff
erent types of automata. The workshop will consi
st of four talks, by Jacques Duparc (Lausanne), Al
essandro Facchini (Warsaw), Victor Selivanov (Novo
sibirsk) and Olivier Finkel (Paris). The meeting w
ill be concluded by a brief discussion session out
lining some open problems and future directions of
the area. More information can be found on the
 webpage of the workshop: http://www.personalweb.un
