DESCRIPTION:The second edition of the FILOMENA Wor
 kshop (FIlosofia, LOgica e MEtafísica aNAlítica), 
 promoted by the Group on Logic and Formal Philosop
 hy from the UFRN, has the purpose of gathering log
 icians working at the intersection of Logic and Me
 taphysics, through the application of formal metho
 ds in Philosophy.    Logic, while initially consid
 ered as a branch of Philosophy, has outgrown its o
 riginal purposes and found connections with other 
 areas of Philosophy, such as Philosophy of Languag
 e, Philosophy of Mathematics, Philosophy of Scienc
 e and Philosophy of Mind. Since its modern develop
 ment, Logic has proved to be a powerful tool for a
 nalyzing different philosophical theories, as well
  as their foundations and implications; moreover, 
 the birth and development of non-classical logics 
 has expanded its domain of application much beyond
  the dreams of its progenitors.   For more informa

 ommittee cordially invites all researchers to subm
 it their papers for presentation. Each contributed
  talk is to have the duration of 25 minutes, divid
 ed into 20 minutes for exposition followed by 5 mi
 nutes of discussion. The abstracts may be written 
 in English or Portuguese, but not both. Submission
  deadline: April 12.
