DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20151114 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20151115 LOCATION:Santa Cruz CA, U.S.A. DESCRIPTION:The Intelligent Narrative Technologies (INT) workshop series aims to advance research in artificial intelligence for the computational und erstanding and expression of narrative. INT8, the eighth workshop in the series, will be co-located with the Eleventh Annual AAAI Conference on Artifi cial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertai nment (AIIDE 2015) at University of California, Sa nta Cruz. Recent years have witnessed significa nt advances in the technical, creative, and aesthe tic interpretation of narratives with digital medi a, including games, simulations, interactive ficti on, and electronic literature. Our goal is to cont ribute to this forward momentum by congregating a multidisciplinary group of researchers and practit ioners to share their latest work at the intersect ion of narrative and technology. Previous meetings of this workshop have brought together computer s cientists, psychologists, narrative theorists, med ia theorists, artists, writers, and members of the interactive entertainment industry. From this bro ad expertise, the workshop focuses on computationa l systems to represent, reason about, create, adap t, and perform interactive and non-interactive nar rative experiences. This also includes fundamental research in relevant fields such as natural langu age processing, believable virtual characters, com monsense reasoning, computer vision, computational media, and human storytelling. For more informa tion, see http://go.ncsu.edu/int8 We invite submi ssions of full papers (6 pages plus 1 page of refe rences) describing completed or ongoing relevant r esearch and short papers (4 pages including refere nces) for preliminary work, position papers, or wo rk of limited scope. We also invite demo proposals (1 page) and panel proposals (1 page). Submission deadline: July 3 X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
