DESCRIPTION:The workshop will bring together the s
cholars who are either involved in the joint proje
ct “The Logical Dynamics of Information Exchange i
n Social Networks” (funded by the KNAW), or whose
research is closely related to it. We aim to creat
e a platform for researchers to exchange ideas and
strengthen further collaboration. With the KNAW
project, the main research problem we want to inve
stigate is the understanding of information flow a
nd group belief dynamics in social networks. We in
tend to: (1) develop formal models and logics for
the study of social-informational dynamics, (2) de
velop appropriate software for the computational a
nalysis of this dynamics, (3) extract practical le
ssons about the opportunities and dangers posed by
social networks, and (4) use these results as a s
ource of philosophical reflection on the nature of
social knowledge and the epistemological signific
ance of corporate agents. The proposed methodology
is to use extensions of Dynamic Epistemic Logic,
in combination with probabilistic methods. For mo
 re information, see http://tsinghualogic.net/JRC/?
