DESCRIPTION:Jin Yuelin (1895—1984) was a pioneerin
 g philosopher and logician in China. After his stu
 dy at Columbia University in the United States, he
  established the department of philosophy at Tsing
 hua University in 1926, where he started teaching 
 modern logic for the first time, while engaged in 
 deep encounters between modern and Chinese philoso
 phy. Jun Yuelin's personality and ideas have had a
  continuing impact on logicians and philosophers i
 n China right until today. In the spirit of Jin Yu
 elin's intellectual program, this international co
 nference is held at Tsinghua University, exploring
  recent research into the many directions in his w
 ork and beyond. As our guiding theme, we will expl
 ore the current state of encounters between philos
 ophy and logic. The conference will bring together
  Chinese and international scholars, both senior a
