SUMMARY:7th Salzburg Conference for Young Analytic
Philosophy 2016 (SOPhiA 2016), Salzburg, Austria
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20160907
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20160909
LOCATION:Salzburg, Austria
DESCRIPTION:SOPhiA 2016 is a public confererence o
rganised by the University of Salzburg's Departmen
t of Philosophy (Humanities), where philosophy stu
dents (pre-doc) can give presentations and discuss
problems of all areas of philosophy. A thematical
focus is not intended. The presentations should r
ather set themselves apart by a methodical limitat
ion to the tradition of Analytic Philosophy by usa
ge of clear language and comprehensible arguments.
The conference is meant to be a unified effort o
f the conference attendees to clearly formulate so
me of the problems of philosophy and to provide a
critical assessment of them. No individual philoso
pher is expected to construct "a whole building of
philosophy" all by herself; rather, the conferenc
e hosts expect everyone, as Carnap proposes, to br
ing the undertaking forward "at his specific place
within" philosophy. For more information see ht
 tps://www.sbg.ac.at/sophia/SOPhiA/2016/ or contact
  organization at sophia-conference.org. Student
s and doctoral candidates (pre-doc) in philosophy
are encouraged to submit an abstract (in English o
r German) prepared for double-blind review. Deadli
ne for submissions: May 1, 2016.
