DESCRIPTION:Over the years, the Semantic Web visio
 n has been driving many community efforts which ha
 ve invested a lot of resources in developing vocab
 ularies and ontologies for annotating their resour
 ces semantically. Besides ontologies, rules have l
 ong been a central part of the Semantic Web framew
 ork and are available as one of its fundamental re
 presentation tools, with logic serving as a unifyi
 ng foundation. Linked data is a related research a
 rea which studies how one can make RDF data availa
 ble on the Web, and interconnect it with other dat
 a with the aim of increasing its value for everybo
 dy.  Many advanced capabilities required by Semant
 ic Web and Linked Data application scenarios call 
 for Reasoning. Thus, a perspective centered on the
  reasoning techniques complementing other research
  efforts in this area is desirable. This Summer Sc
 hool series is devoted to this perspective, and wi
 ll give insight into the Semantic Web, Linked Data
 , Ontologies, Rules, and Logic.  The Reasoning Web
  Summer School 2016 is primarily intended for adva
 nced undergraduate students, M.Sc. and Ph.D. stude
 nts, postdoctoral researchers, and young researche
 rs from industry. The Summer School will also be o
 pen to a limited number of senior researchers from
  other areas wishing to learn about Semantic Web, 
 Linked Data and related issues. The number of part
 icipants is limited. Application deadline: TBA.
