 Newer approaches, however, draw attention to the q
 uestion of how the meaning of natural language ari
 ses. The DGfS Summer School Mapping Meaning: Theor
 y – Cognition – Variation would like to follow thi
 s new perspective by focusing on the dynamics and 
 adaptivity of linguistic meaning. Taking up these 
 key issues of the Collaborative Research Center 83
 3 in Tübingen, the summer school aims at providing
  an inspiring forum for discussing the meaning con
 stitution of natural language from theoretically a
 nd methodologically different points of view.   Th
 e Summer School is co-organized by the Deutsche Ge
 sellschaft für Sprachwissenschaft (DGfS), the Coll
 aborative Research Center 833 (SFB 833), the Resea
 rch Training Group 1808 (GRK 1808) and the Forum S
 cientiarum in Tübingen.   Minimum Education Level:
  Advanced students (Ph.D. or M.A. level, advanced 
 B.A. student)   Description:Renowned researchers f
 rom Germany, Europe and the United States will off
 er a total of 18 courses. The language of instruct
 ion will be English. The courses are assigned to t
 hree thematic areas – Theory, Cognition, and Varia
