SUMMARY:Workshop on Logical Constants, Munich, Ger
 many
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20161005
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20161006
LOCATION:Munich, Germany
DESCRIPTION:The two traditions defining contempora
ry thought on the topic of logicality are the proo
f theoretic and the semantic traditions. The diffe
rence is not merely the different mathematical too
ls they employ in studying logical consequence: th
ere are deep philosophical questions involved, hav
ing to do with the relation between language, mean
ing and truth. The aim of this workshop is to prom
ote a dialogue between people working in these two
traditions, for the benefit of both, and with the
hope of gaining a wide perspective on the issues
concerned with logicality. For more information,
see here. We invite contributions, suitable for
a 45 minute talk addressing one or more of the co
nference questions or related issues. We encourage
submissions from early-career researchers and PhD
students. Deadline for submissions: July 25th, 20
 16.
