DESCRIPTION:HOPOS is devoted to promoting serious,
  scholarly research on the history of the philosop
 hy of science. We construe this subject broadly, t
 o include topics in the history of related discipl
 ines and in all historical periods, studied throug
 h diverse methodologies. We aim to promote histori
 cal work in a variety of ways, but especially thro
 ugh encouraging exchange among scholars through me
 etings, publications, and electronic media.  HOPOS
  2018 will take place at the University of Groning
 en in the Netherlands in July 2018. The local orga
 nizers include Professor Martin Lenz, Dr Han Thoma
 s Adriaenssen and Dr Andrea Sangiacomo of the Hist
 ory of Philosophy Department. Keynote speakers: Ka
 ren Detlefsen (University of Pennsylvania) and Mar
 tin Kusch (University of Vienna).  The Society her
 eby requests proposals for papers and symposia to 
 be presented at the meeting. The program committee
  particularly encourages submissions on philosophi
 cal themes that cross time periods. Proposals for 
 papers should be prepared for anonymous review. Pr
 oposals for symposia should consist of 3 or 4 pape
 rs.
