The Rudol f-Carnap-Lectures are an annual event started by P rof. Dr. Albert Newen from the Institute of Philos ophy II at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany in 200 7. The Lectures provide a platform for distinguish ed scholars to present their work in the form of s everal talks on their preferred topic. The focus i s usually on the areas of Philosophy of Mind, Lang uage or Science. In turn, graduate students intere sted in these topics get the chance to engage in e xtensive discussion and get in touch with state-of -the-art research. In addition, some of them have the chance to present their own work on related to pics during a graduate conference, based on a peer review process.
\n\nFrom June 8-10, 2017, the next RCL will be presented by Prof. Frank Jac kson (ANU), who is going to present his work on me aning, perception, and the nature of mind in Bochu m, as always in the context of a Graduate workshop where several PhD students and Postdocs will also have the chance to present their ideas on themes from the work of Frank Jackson.
\nIn addition to Prof. Jackson's lectures, seve ral PhD-student or early postdoc presentations (co nstraint: PhD finished 2014 or later) are planned. In addition we have room for one or two experienc ed postdoc presentations: Postdocs (constraint: Ph D finished 2010 or later) are invited to submit an abstract indicating it to be a postdoc-presentati on. Topics should be related to the main theme of the conference in a loose sense. Papers will be se lected based on a blind review process.
