SUMMARY:Partiality, Underspecification and Natural
Language Processing (PUaNLP 2017), Porto, Portug
 al
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20170224
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20170226
LOCATION:Porto, Portugal
DESCRIPTION:Computational and technological develo
pments that incorporate natural language are proli
ferating. Adequate coverage encounters difficult p
 roblems related to partiality, underspecification,
and context-dependency, which are signature featu
res of information in nature and natural languages
. Furthermore, agents (humans or computational sys
tems) can participate in informational content, or
influence its flow as information conveyors and i
nterpreters. This Special Session at ICAART 2017
covers theoretical work, advanced applications, ap
proaches, and techniques for computational models
of information and its presentation by language (a
rtificial, human, or natural in other ways). The g
oal is to promote intelligent natural language pro
cessing and related models of thought, mental stat
es, reasoning, and other cognitive processes. Pro
spective authors are invited to submit papers in a
ny topic relevant to the Special Session. The publ
ication rules for PUaNLP are the same as for ICAAR
T conference. Regular Papers classified as Full Pa
pers will be assigned a 12-page limit in the Confe
rence Proceedings, while Regular Papers classified
as Short Papers have an 8-page limit. Paper Submi
 ssion deadline:December 9, 2016.
