SUMMARY:16th International Conference on Artificia
l Intelligence and Law (ICAIL 2017), London, Engla
 nd
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20170612
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20170616
LOCATION:London, England
DESCRIPTION:The ICAIL conference is the primary in
ternational conference addressing research in Arti
ficial Intelligence and Law, and has been organize
d biennially since 1987 under the auspices of the
 International Association for Artificial Intellige
nce and Law (IAAIL). ICAIL provides a forum for th
e presentation and discussion of the latest resear
ch results and practical applications; it fosters
 interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
The conference will feature a main track for tec
hnical papers, a demonstration track, workshops, t
utorials, a doctoral consortium and best paper pri
zes. The field serves as an excellent setting for
AI researchers to demonstrate the application of
their work in a rich, real-world domain. The confe
rence also serves as a venue for researchers to sh
owcase their work on the theoretical foundations o
f computational models of law. Additionally, a ses
sion will be organised for the demonstration of cr
eative, robust, and practical working applications
and tools, and a Doctoral Consortium will provide
doctoral students with an opportunity to publish
and present papers on their PhD research and to re
ceive feedback and encouragement from the AI and L
aw community. Accordingly, authors are invited to
submit papers on a broad spectrum of research topi
 cs relevant to the conference.
