SUMMARY:Workshop Learning and Automata (LearnAut 2
 017), Reykjavik, Iceland
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20170619
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20170619
LOCATION:Reykjavik, Iceland
DESCRIPTION:Grammatical Inference (GI) studies mac
hine learning algorithms for classical recursive m
odels of computations like automata and grammars.
The expressive power of these models and the compl
exity of associated computational problems are a m
ajor research topic within theoretical computer sc
ience (TCS). This workshop aims at offering a favo
rable place for dialogue and at generating discuss
ions between researchers from these two communitie
 s. The workshop will have a particular emphasis o
n the recent successes due to collaborations betwe
en members with these two different backgrounds.
We invite submissions of recent works, possibly pr
eliminary ones, related to the theme of the worksh
op. Similarly to how main machine learning confere
nces and workshops are organized, all accepted abs
tracts will be part of a poster session held durin
g the workshop. Additionally, the Program Committe
e will select a subset of the abstracts for oral p
resentation. At least one author of each accepted
abstract is expected to represent it at the worksh
 op.
