ytical Metaphysics (Filomena 2017), Natal, Brazil

DESCRIPTION:The third edition of the FILOMENA Work
shop (FIlosofia, LOgica e MEtafísica aNAlítica), p
romoted by the Group for Logic and Formal Philosop
hy from the UFRN, has the purpose of gathering log
icians working at the intersection of Logic and Me
taphysics, through the application of formal metho
ds in Philosophy. Logic, a branch of Philosophy on
its own, has outgrown its original purposes and f
ound connections with other areas of Philosophy, s
uch as Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Mathe
matics, Philosophy of Science and Philosophy of Mi
nd. Logic has proved to be a powerful tool for ana
lyzing different philosophical theories, as well a
s their foundations and implications; moreover, th
e birth and development of non-classical logics ha
s expanded its domain of application much beyond t
he dreams of its progenitors. Invited Speakers: T
uomas Tahko (University of Helsinki), Jonas Arenha
rt (Federal University of Santa Catarina) and Gior
gio Venturi (State University of Campinas).
