SUMMARY:6th Workshop on Dynamics of Knowledge and
Belief (DKB-2017) and 5th Workshop KI & Kognition
 (KIK-2017), Dortmund, Germany
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20170925
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20170929
LOCATION:Dortmund, Germany
DESCRIPTION:Knowledge representation offers a rich
palette of methods for uncertain reasoning both t
o describe human reasoning and to model AI approac
hes. Its many facets like qualitative vs. quantita
tive reasoning, defeasible and analogical reasonin
g, argumentation and negotiation in multi-agent sy
stems, causal reasoning for action and planning, a
s well as nonmonotonicity and belief revision, amo
ng many others, have become very active fields of
research. Beyond computational aspects, these meth
ods aim to reflect the rich variety of human reaso
ning in uncertain and dynamic environments. The a
im of this series of workshops is to address recen
t challenges and to present novel approaches to un
certain reasoning and belief change in their broad
senses, and in particular provide a forum for res
earch work linking different paradigms of reasonin
 g. We welcome papers on any of the workshop topic
 s. We put a special focus on papers from both fiel
ds that provide a base for connecting formal-logic
al models of knowledge representation and cognitiv
e models of reasoning, addressing formal as well a
 s experimental or heuristic issues.
