This work shop, held in conjunction with the 12th Internatio nal Conference on Computational Semantics (IWCS), will bring together two closely related strands of research. On the one hand it will look at the ove rlap between ontologies and computational linguist ics; and on the other the relationship between kno wledge modelling and terminologies -- as well as t he many points of intersection between these two t opics. This workshop aims to create a forum for op en discussion that will help to highlight the comm on areas of interest in the different fields conce rned, as well as fostering dialogue between the va rious different approaches taken by each disciplin e.

This workshop welcomes contributions from researchers i n fields such as linguistics, terminologies, and k nowledge engineering, whose work fits in with our topics of interest as well as interested industry professionals. We invite proposals in the form of abstracts of up to 6 pages (up to 4 pages of text +2 pages for references) for short papers, or up t o 8 pages (up to 6 pages of text+ 2 pages for refe rences) for long papers. We particularly welcome a pproaches with a cross-language, cross-domain and/ or cross-interdisciplinary scope.
