SUMMARY:Applied Category Theory 2018 (ACT 2018),
 Leiden, the Netherlands
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20180430
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20180504
LOCATION: Leiden, the Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:The workshop is heavily slanted toward
discussion and collaboration. We want to instigat
 e a multi-disciplinary research program in which c
oncepts, structures, and methods from one discipli
ne can be reused in another. Tangibly and in the s
hort-term, we will bring together people from diff
erent disciplines in order to write an expository
survey paper that grounds the varied research in a
pplied category theory and lays out the parameters
of the research program. A limited number of spe
akers will give overview talks intended to instiga
te discussion, including Samson Abramsky (Oxford),
John Baez (UC Riverside), Kathryn Hess (EPFL), Me
hrnoosh Sadrzadeh (Queen Mary) and David Spivak (M
 IT).
