SUMMARY:Workshop on Hyperintensional Logics & Trut
 hmaker Semantics, Gent, Belgium
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20171215
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20171215
LOCATION:Gent, Belgium
DESCRIPTION:Over the past few years, Kit Fine, Mar
k Jago and many others have developed various hype
rintensional logics: logics that do not satisfy re
placement of classical equivalents. Instead, a str
onger notion of “analytic equivalence” lies at the
core of these systems. Semantics that are more fi
ne-grained than possible-world semantics, such as
exact truthmaker semantics, have been proposed to
interpret hyperintensional logics. They have recen
tly been applied to the theory of counterfactuals
and to debates in metaphysics, among other topics.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together and
promote research in this area, and to draw connec
tions with ongoing work in philosophical logic, in
cluding but not limited to: paraconsistency and pa
racompleteness, probability theory, first- and hig
her-order logics, deontic reasoning, relevance log
ic, and modal logic. Keynote speaker: Kit Fine. T
here are 3 slots for contributed talks left. Pleas
e send a title and abstract (max. 500 words) to th
 e organizers by November 15th, 2017.
