SUMMARY:Workshop on Ramsey Theory of Equations & R
 elated Topics, Pisa, Italy
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20180216
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20180217
LOCATION:Pisa, Italy
DESCRIPTION:In 2016 two long standing open problem
s in Ramsey Theory of equations and polynomial con
figurations have been solved: the Boolean Pythagor
ean triples problem and the partition regularity o
f the configuration {x,x+y,xy}. For this reason, p
roblems regarding the partition regularity of nonl
inear Diophantine equations and polynomial configu
rations are now in the spotlight of the mathematic
al community. An interesting feature of this topic
is that several different non-elementary techniqu
es, including ultrafilters, ergodic theory, nonsta
ndard analysis, semigroup theory and topological d
ynamics, can be used to solve problems in this are
 a. The aim of this Workshop is to present aspects
of several of these different techniques, as well
as to discuss many interesting related problems.
