In the la st few decades an impressive amount of foundationa l research in philosophical logic has been devoted to the development of semantical tools which prov ide sufficiently fine-grained semantics to deal wi th important topics of pure and applied modal logi c, such as the representation of situations, state s of affairs, structured contents, hyperintensiona l contexts, and agent-related attitudes, like epis temic and prohairetic attitudes. A number of diffe rent modal frameworks have emerged to tackle these themes. The aim of this conference is to study th e potential of these approaches and to explore new connections between them, by providing a forum to present new ideas and analytical methods.
\n\nInvited Speakers: Sergei Artemov (New York), Marta Bilkova (Prague), Hannes Leitgeb (Munich) an d Sonja Smets (Amsterdam).
\nWe invite submissions for 30 minute presentations, with 10 additional minutes for discussion. We wel come both logical contributions, providing novel s olutions to crucial problems in the field, and fou ndational contributions, focusing on the conceptua l frameworks underlying these approaches and the p ossibility of combining them. We plan to publish S tudia Logica special issue on the subject of fine grained semantics based on best conference submiss ions.
