DESCRIPTION:In classical descriptive set theory, B
 aire space is the most central topological space f
 or the study of the real numbers, consisting of fu
 nctions from omega to omega. Moving from omega to 
 an uncountable cardinal kappa, one can consider *g
 eneralised Baire spaces*, the sets of functions fr
 om kappa to kappa. The study of these spaces has b
 ecome a very important subject in set theory in th
 e past decade.  In combination with the KNAW Acade
 my Colloquium "Generalised Baire Spaces", the Roya
 l Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences is offe
 ring a one day Master Class on the topic of Genera
 lised Baire Spaces, with four 2-hour courses taugh
 t by Andreas Blass, Jouko Vaananen, Andrew Brooke-
 Taylor, and Philipp Schlicht. This Master Class, i
 ntended for graduate students, will teach the basi
 c material needed to understand the research resul
 ts discussed during the colloquium on the two foll
 owing days.
