 fe. But these technological advances come with ser
 ious societal risks. In this workshop we bring tog
 ether researchers from various disciplines who wor
 k on the societal impact of AI applications.  On M
 onday we organize a scientific panel discussion on
  the role of researchers in the debate on algorith
 mic fairness. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Dr.
  SennayGhebreab (Civic AI Lab, University of Amste
 rdam); Jenneke Evers (eLaw, Leiden University); Ag
 athe Balayn (Computer Science, TU Delft) and Dr. W
 innie Ma (Philosophy, Kings College London).  We c
 lose the workshop with a public event on Algorithm
 ic Injustice at Spui25 on Tuesday 27th at 20.00.Ou
 r speakers are:Su Lin Blodgett, who has been worki
 ng on AI and fairness, Erin Beeghly, who studies t
 he wrong of stereotypes, legal scholar Naomi Appel
 man who sued the VU University for its online proc
 toring softwareand documentary maker Nirit Peled, 
 who documentedpeople who suffered the consequences
  of unfair police algorithms. Together, they will 
 explore pressing matters around algorithmic injust
 ice.
