DESCRIPTION:On Monday December 18th, 13 - 18 hours
 , ILLC and Elsevier are throwing a party to celebr
 ate the appearance of a number of volumes in the t
 he growing series "Handbook of the Philosophy of S
 cience", edited by Dov Gabbay, Paul Thagard, & Joh
 n Woods. More in particular, we will also launch t
 he just-appeared "Handbook of Modal Logic", edited
  by Patrick Blackburn, Johan van Benthem & Frank W
 olter. Many people at and around ILLC have contrib
 uted to this volume, but other 'prime movers' will
  be present as well, including the Series publishe
 rs that we have worked with for so long.   The eve
 nt will include short presentations, displays, and
  some further social items. It is be held in the h
 istorical VOC Building in the centre of Amsterdam.
