 t a detailed map of a conceptual landscape that co
 ntains the notions of misleading, deceiving, cheat
 ing, self-deceiving, simulating, acting hypocritic
 ally, and lying. In my attempt at throwing some li
 ght on these concepts and their interrelations I s
 hall draw upon Bernard Bolzano's sadly neglected w
 ork in this area.    Professor Künne is author of 
 the book `Conceptions of Truth' (OUP 2003); see ht
