DESCRIPTION:Evert Willem Beth (1908-1964) was the 
 founding father of scientific philosophy in the Ne
 therlands, as well as the founder of institutional
 ized logic in Amsterdam.    In celebration of the 
 centenary of his birth, the E.W. Beth Centenary Co
 nference will focus on Beth's contributions to log
 ic, philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of scien
 ce, history of logic and scientific philosophy, in
  relation to contemporary ideas.    The scientific
  conference is devoted to four subjects, divided o
