SUMMARY:First Workshop on Logics and Strategies
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20090626
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20090626
LOCATION:Room 5161.0267, Bernoulliborg Building, N
 ijenborgh 9, Groningen, The Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:Modelling intelligent and rational int
eraction in multi-agent systems has been one of th
e main issues in Artificial Intelligence that gain
ed momentum in the last decade of the past century
. This is now merging into broader studies of form
al models of society, where computer science meets
decision theory, game theory and social choice th
eory, for instance in the study of rational delibe
ration and decision making. This first workshop o
n logics and strategies of the project STRATMAS fo
cuses on ideas and concepts for bringing in the no
tion of strategies explicitly in the logical frame
works dealing with intelligent and rational intera
ction in multi-agent systems, which is one of the
main goals of the project. The workshop consists o
f talks by some experts in this area as well as so
me young researchers. It can also be regarded as t
he first event in the revival of "Dag der GrAmscha
p" which used to be a regular event, not so many y
ears ago, to mark a day of talks and discussions b
etween the Amsterdam and the Groningen logic resea
rch community on some topics of mutual interest.
The workshop is free for participants, but please
pre-register before June 20, 2009, by sending mai
l to Sujata Ghosh (sujata at ai.rug.nl) so that we
can organize an appropriate lecture room and cate
ring. For more information, see http://www.ai.rug.
