and Utrecht. PhiMSAMP ("Philosophy of Mathemati
cs: Sociological Aspects and Mathematical Practice
") is an international research network funded by
the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and coordinate
d from Amsterdam and Utrecht aiming to combine too
ls from sociology, psychology, educational studies
, history and other subjects to provide a philosop
hy of mathematics that has a closer affinity to ac
tual mathematical research practice than the tradi
tional foundationalist philosophies. The network w
orked on this from 2006 to 2010 during a number of
workshops and conferences; the result of this wor
k is a volume published in the series "Texts in Ph
ilosophy". This volume will be presented to the pu
blic at the event. The event also includes the a
nnual General Membership Meeting of the VvL during
the lunch break (12:15-13:45) on the 23rd (in Hoo
