DESCRIPTION:In visual neuroscience the binding pro
blem refers to the puzzle how spatial information
segregation in the brain (form, color, motion) res
ults in a unified percept. In language processing,
however, the binding problem refers to the unific
ation of information across time. I will show some
of the organizational principles of binding toget
her different types of language-relevant informati
on into a unified representation of the incoming s
poken or written signals. Research using EEG and f
MRI will be discussed. For more information, se
e the news and events page at http://www.csca.uva.
nl or contact Lucy Wenting at L.U.Wenting at uva.n
 l.
