\n This symposium is the second of three devoted to the\n exploration of the common ground between the "Logic and\n Natural Langu age Processing" Area of CoLogNET (Network of\ n Excellence in Computational Logic,\n http://www.colognet.org/) and ELSNET (Net work of\n Excellence in Human Language Tech nologies,\n http://www.elsnet.org/). T he topic of this\n session is 'Questions an d Answers'. The symposium will address\n bo th the logical foundations underlying these notion s, and\n technological implications for que stion answering systems.\n
\n\n The symposium aims at bringing together res earchers interested\n in a combination of t heoretical and applied perspectives, and\n invites an exchange of ideas between computational linguists,\n computer scientists and logic ians. It will feature invited\n talks by le ading researchers from academia and industry as\n well as a number of contributed talks.\n Invited speakers are \n Jeroen Groenen dijk (ILLC, University of Amsterdam),\n Wer ner Ceusters (Language and Computing)\n and Karen Spärck Jones (Computer Laboratory, Uni versity\n of Cambridge).\n Th e symposium will be co-located with the \n Fourteenth\n Amsterdam Colloqium. \n
