SUMMARY:ABC Symposium on Decision Making
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20150421
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20150421
LOCATION:Brakke Grond, Nes 45, Amsterdam
DESCRIPTION:Researchers from various UvA departmen
ts share a deep interest in the study of decision
making and decision support. Joining forces would
enable researchers with backgrounds in, e.g., Psyc
hology, Economics, Biology, Mathematics, Logic, Ar
tificial Intelligence, and Computer Science to cap
italize on their complementary expertise. This, in
turn, will allow the UvA to widen the interdiscip
linary nature, scope, and significance of ongoing
research in the decision sciences, and to educate
a new generation of experts in this field. The Sym
posium on Decision Making will bring together UvA
staff members and students from various department
s and Master's programmes to discuss central quest
ions, share perspectives, and identify common grou
nd as well as important focus topics for potential
research and education initiatives, in an interac
tive forum. The programme will consist of a keyno
te lecture by Paul Glimcher (NYU) on neuroeconomic
s and three panel discussions on different questio
ns related to decision making and decision support
. For more information, see http://www.abc.uva.
nl/decision-making or contact Ulle Endriss (ulle.e
 ndriss at uva.nl).
