SUMMARY:Foundations of the Formal Sciences V: Infi
nite Games, Mathematisches Institut, RhFWU Bonn
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20041126

DESCRIPTION:Infinite Games have been investigated
by mathematicians since the beginning of the twent
ieth century and have played a central role in mat
hematical logic. However, their applications go fa
r beyond mathematics: they feature prominently in
 theoretical computer science, philosophical Gedank
enexperiments, as limit cases in economical applic
ations, and in many other applications. The confer
ence FotFS V wants to bring together researchers f
rom the various areas that employ infinitary game
techniques to talk about similarities and dissimil
arities of the different approaches and develop cr
oss-cultural bridges. We invite all researchers
from areas applying infinitary game-theoretic meth
 ods (economists, mathematicians, logicians, philos
ophers, computer scientists, sociologists) to subm
it their papers before September 15th, 2004. Topic
s will include Games in Algebra and Logic, Games i
n Higher Set Theory, Games in Set-Theoretic Topolo
gy, Infinite Games & Computer Science, Infinite Ga
mes in Philosophy, Infinite Evolutionary Games, Ma
chine Games, Game Logics, Infinite Games in the So
cial Sciences. For more information, see http:/
