 posium on congenital amusia. Congenital amusia is 
 a neuro-developmental disorder that is neither cau
 sed by insufficient exposure to music, nor by a he
 aring deficiency, brain damage or intellectual imp
 airment. People with congenital amusia (amusics) f
 ace lifelong impairments in the musical domain (mu
 sic often causes discomfort to them). They cannot 
 detect a pitch difference between two adjacent ton
 es if this difference is one semitone or less.
