SUMMARY:AMLaP Conference on Architectures and Mech
anisms of Language Processing, Gent, Belgium
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20050905
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20050907
LOCATION:Gent, Belgium
DESCRIPTION:AMLaP is an annual international confe
rence which has established itself as the premier
European venue for interdisciplinary research into
how people process language. The conference aims
to bring together psychological, computational, an
d theoretical perspectives on the cognitive archit
ectures and mechanisms which underly any aspect of
human language processing, from lexical processin
g, parsing and interpretation, through to discours
e level mechanisms. Contributions to AMLaP which e
xplicity relate empirical and experimental finding
s and computational mechanisms are especially enco
uraged. Topics relevant to the conference include
(but are not limited to): computational models, cr
 oss-linguistic studies, language production, stati
 stical mechanisms, corpus-based studies, discourse
, lexical processing, parsing and interpretation,
 learning mechanisms, connectionist models, compute
r simulations and models of acquisition. For mo
 re information see http://www.amlap2005.ugent.be/
Deadline for submissions is May 16.
