DESCRIPTION:The Special Programme for the Cognitiv
 e Sciences combines forces with the Technology Fou
 ndation STW and invites strong groups working in d
 ifferent domains of the cognitive sciences to subm
 it proposals for application-oriented cognitive re
 search projects with clear innovative qualities. F
 or this Call for Application-oriented Cognitive Re
 search Projects, a budget with a maximum of 2.25 m
 illion euro is available.   Proposals must be subm
 itted electronically to NWO (cognitie at nwo.nl). 
 Proposals should be written in accordance with the
  Guidelines for the STW Open Technology Programme.
  In addition to these guidelines, it is compulsory
  to write a supplement in which fulfilment of the 
 specific criteria as formulated by the programme c
 ommittee should be explained. Completion of the as
 sessment procedure will take approximately 8 month
 s. It is possible to submit proposals from Februar
 y, 1, 2004, until the available budget for the app
 lication-oriented cognitive research proposals is
