DESCRIPTION:Grants from the European Research Coun
 cil (ERC) support individual researchers of any na
 tionality and age who wish to pursue their frontie
 r research. In particular, the ERC encourages prop
 osals that cross disciplinary boundaries, pioneeri
 ng ideas that address new and emerging fields and 
 applications that introduce unconventional, innova
 tive approaches. ERC grants are awarded through op
 en competition to projects headed by starting and 
 established researchers - the sole criterion for s
 election is scientific excellence.  To gain an ove
 rall view of the rules and possibilities, we cordi
 ally invite you to an ERC information session. Dur
 ing this session, your National Contact Points wil
 l inform you of the possible type of grants, the r
 ules for participation and the evaluation process.
  In addition a member of an evaluation panel will 
 tell you about his/her experience with evaluating 
 ERC proposals (TBC) and an ERC grant holder will s
