Junior Professorship (W1, tenure track W2) in Logic, Jena (Germany)

The Faculty of Arts at Friedrich Schiller University Jena seeks to fill a Professorship (W 1 with Tenure Track to W 2) in Philosophy with a specialisation in logic from the next possible date.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate level, especially by directing the obligatory course "Introduction into Logic and the theory of argumentation", as well as in courses in neighbouring areas of philosophy and in the Curricula BA Philosophy, MA Philosophy and Teacher Training Philosophy/Ethics. Course language is German. Furthermore, the successful candidate is expected to engage in the interdisciplinary research projects of the Institute for Philosophy and of the University.

The professorship is initially limited to four years. After a positive interim evaluation, it will be extendable by a further two years. Subject to a further positive evaluation, the appointment to a permanent W2-professorship will take place after six years without the vacancy being readvertised.
