Logic and Reasoning: Do the Facts Matter? Johan van Benthem Abstract: Modern logic is undergoing a cognitive turn, side-stepping Frege's 'anti-psychologism'. Collaborations between logicians and colleagues in more empirical fields are growing, especially in research on reasoning and information update by intelligent agents. We try to make more of this common knowledge, and we discuss what this means for our views of the nature of logic, the sterility of 'barrier theses' like Frege's, and a modern plausible understanding of 'psychologism'.
