PhD positions in philosophy; project "Selbstbewusstsein und Begriffsbildung beim Menschen" ("Consciousness and formation of concepts"); project leader PD Dr. Albert Newen <newen at uni-bonn.de>

Time frame: Jan 2004-Dec 2005

Project: Development of an adequate description of human consciousness (conscious experience of your mental states) and concept formations in the human subject (concepts of self, persons, your own knowledge). PhD project 1 is focussing on philosophy of science aspects, PhD project is focussing on philosophy of language and mind aspects.

Prerequisites: (equivalent of a) Master's degree in philosophy; excellent grades. In addition to that good knowledge in at least one of the following areas: cognitive psychology, behavioural biology, artificial intelligence, or neuroscience.
