15 December 2026, Constructed Meanings: The Challenge of Artificial Intelligence
The Systematicity Argument tells us that there must be symbols (“concepts”) inside agents who display linguistic capacities: the argument has been enormously influential in Philosophy, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, and now in AI, but is the argument a good one?
Invited Speakers: D. Rothschild (UCL), M. Lewis (ILLC, UvA), S. Gerlek (ASCA, UvA).
Applications are welcome from Master and PhD students.

The goal of the proposed workshop is to gather experts on Philosophy of Language, Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Philosophy of AI, and Neurosymbolic AI, to assess the validity of the Systematicity Argument and its implications for our understanding of Language, the Mind, and AI.
Applications contributing to any of these topics are welcome.

We are organizing a thematic school with a strong interdisciplinary focus centered on linguistics, logic, the role of diachrony in conditional constructions, and corpus studies. Following three successful thematic schools in 2019, 2022, and 2024, the upcoming Conditionals school will take place at INALCO in Paris from October 26 to 30, 2026. Invited speakers include Hadil Karawani (Konstanz), Stefan Kaufmann (Connecticut), Dean McHugh (Edinburgh), Ezra la Roi (Ghent and Leuven), and Alex Reuneker (Leiden).

23 - 24 January 2027, Cambridge Graduate Conference on the Philosophy of Mathematics and Logic, St John's College, Cambridge [UK]
Logic and the philosophy of mathematics are central and foundational sub-disciplines in philosophy. However, graduate students working in these areas often struggle to find access to forums in which they can discuss their work with peers. The aim of this conference is to provide graduate students working in these and related areas with such a forum.
Additionally, the conference has been co-founded by the ILLC's own Luca Incurvati!
This is an unrivalled opportunity for graduate students interested in logic, philosophy of mathematics, and other formal areas of philosophy to present their work. A representative, but nonexclusive, list of subdisciplines would be: philosophy of mathematics, logic and philosophy of logic, applications of logic to epistemology and metaphysics, formal epistemology, decision theory, and applications of formal methods to the philosophy of science.
Papers should be no longer than 4000 words (including footnotes and appendices, excluding references) and suitable for a 40 minute presentation. They should also be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 150 words. The submission deadline is adjusted for the UK time.

The meeting welcomes researchers and students interested in category theory and its connections with logic, computer science, algebra and topology. Registration is free. Submission deadline is 29 October, and registration closes on 5 November.
We welcome abstracts for contributed talks on category theory and its connections with algebra, topology, logic and computer science.

How do you have meaningful conversations with students about AI in public communication? Using Amsterdam's 'AI imagineering' case and the Moral Data City Hunt, you work with concrete dilemmas around AI‑generated imagery, such as trust, inclusion and responsibility.
