Title: When should we meet and for how long?

Abstract

A group of people have to decide when to get together to engage in some joint activity, and for long. Each of them has their own constraints on their schedule that should be taken into account. Thus, a critical consideration is that time is not homogeneous. Also, too short of a meeting would not be useful and too long of a meeting would interfere with their obligations. We look for well-behaved rules to choose an interval based on their preferences. Primary requirements of rules are efficiency and strategy-proofness. We establish a number of positive and negative results.
