Aspasia funding for female speakers

Dear All,

Over the past years you have received a couple of messages regarding the Aspasia fund for female speakers. This resulted in sponsoring a number of female speakers at seminars. Because the deadline to organize other talks with this budget is 31 May 2022, we would like to draw your attention to it once again and stimulate you to come up with ideas for female speakers at seminars, or for guest lectures for students. This would enhance the exposure of students and staff to female role models. A small reminder:

The Aspasia funding available for stimulating this initiative needs to be spent by the end of May 2022, so we would like to come up with a serious number of speakers fairly soon. If you have ideas on this, please send a short message to the Diversity Committee (cc to the seminar series organisers, if applicable) with a proposal including the following details:

-Seminar series
-Speaker name, affiliation, and website
-Estimated Costs (economy class transportation and possibly accommodation; please limit the costs as much as possible. In case the seminar is organized in the framework of a bigger research grant then please include a motivation for why the costs could not be covered by the grant. Note that priority will be given to seminars who don't have any external funding to pay for the costs).

All the best,
Raquel and the Diversity Committee
