PhD student position in Knowledge Representation & Reasoning, Luxembourg (Luxembourg)

The Individual and Collective Reasoning Group (ICR, Department of Computer Science, University of Luxembourg), led by Prof. Leon van der Torre, is looking for a 1 PhD student (doctoral candidate) in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning within the DigitaLisation, Law, And Innovation (DILLAN) training program. We are looking for someone with a special interest or background in one or several of the following areas:
- Knowledge representation and reasoning with applications to law
- Applied formal argumentation
- Explainable AI for trustworthy systems
- Experimental studies on explanation in legal reasoning- Integration of non-symbolic and symbolic techniques

Starting date, January/February 2022 (somewhat flexible), Basic duration: 3 years, extendable by 1 year. Reference: UOL03643.
